This Year, Finally Check Estate Planning Off Your List
Start Planning Your FutureThis Is the Year You Finally Check It Off the List
There’s something about January, isn’t there?
The holidays are behind us. The new year stretches out ahead, full of possibility. You’re cleaning out closets, setting goals, and making lists of things you’re finally going to tackle.
And somewhere on that list – maybe scrawled at the bottom, maybe just floating in the back of your mind – is estate planning.
- I really need to get that done.
- I should probably update those documents.
- I wonder if what we did ten years ago still works.
If any of that sounds familiar, this is your moment.
If You’ve Been Putting It Off
You’re not alone. Most people don’t have an estate plan in place, not because they don’t care, but because life is busy and this feels complicated and slightly morbid and there’s always something more urgent.
But here’s what we’ve learned after 20+ years of helping families: there’s never a convenient time. There’s only now or later . And later has a way of turning into never , until something happens and your family is left scrambling without a plan.
The holidays may have shown you exactly why this matters. Maybe you noticed your parents slowing down. Maybe you realized that if something happened to you, your family wouldn’t know where to find anything, or what you’d want.
That nagging feeling? It’s not going away. But you can do something about it.
If You Don’t Have an Estate Plan (or it’s gathering dust somewhere)
We’re hosting estate planning workshops on January 13th and January 17th. Come learn what you actually need, get your questions answered, and leave with a clear path forward. No pressure, no jargon, no judgment, just real information that helps you protect the people you love.
If You’re Already a Client
First of all, thank you. You did the smart thing and got your plan in place.
But here’s a question: when was the last time you looked at it?
If it’s been three years or more, it’s time for a review. Not because you did anything wrong, but because life changes. Laws change. Assets change. Your goals change. And your plan should reflect your life now , not your life from 2021.
Think about what’s happened in the last few years:
- Did you move?
- Did your kids get married or divorced?
- Did you welcome grandchildren?
- Did you retire, or start a new business?
- Did you lose someone close to you?
- Did your assets or accounts change?
Any of these could mean your plan needs updating. And some changes in the law might affect how your documents work, even if nothing in your life has shifted.
Your three-year review is complimentary. It’s our way of making sure the plan we built together still does exactly what you need it to do. Call us to schedule yours.
Make This the Year
The best time to get your estate planning done was ten years ago. The second best time is now.
Whether you’re starting from scratch, updating an old plan, or just making sure everything’s still in order, January is the perfect time to take action.
Don’t let this be another year of “I really should.”
Make it the year you actually did.

We have a team-centered approach. While each client’s family works with one attorney, our attorneys regularly discuss the design of our plans with each other in order to ensure we’re doing everything possible to help you meet your goals.
In addition, each client works primarily with one paralegal, who gets to know you and your estate plan intimately through the design and
implementation process. The biggest complaint people have about

virtually eliminated this complaint for our clients.
