Brian Van Way
The son of a long-time military family (his grandfather, a Colonel, was in charge of logistics when the Allied Forces stormed the beaches at Normandy), Brian grew up in south Denver. He received his B.A. from the University of Colorado (Boulder) in Literature and Mathematics and his M.A. from St. John’s College (Santa Fe, NM) in Liberal Arts, where he honed his skills in questioning everything.
He spent much of his adult life in Boulder, before moving to Colorado Springs in 2017.
At Hammond Law Group, we believe that a culture of continuous learning, growth, and change directly benefits you. When we challenge ourselves to improve, ask better questions, and adapt to new insights, you receive more thoughtful counsel, more innovative solutions, and a team that’s prepared to navigate the complexities your family faces. Our commitment to professional growth means you’re working with advisors who stay ahead of changes in elder law, estate planning, and wealth transfer strategies—so your plan remains relevant as your life evolves.
As Chief Operating Officer, Brian makes sure that each aspect of our firm works seamlessly for you, our clients and the families we serve.
How do we make your experience exceptional? Brian asks the questions that directly impact your journey with us: Are our processes efficient and respectful of your time? Do our systems make it easy for you to get the guidance you need? Is every interaction adding value to your family’s planning? His operational oversight means you receive responsive, organized, and professional service at every touchpoint.
How do we deliver solutions that truly protect your legacy? Brian makes sure our strategies align with your real-world needs. As we face the largest wealth transfer in history and confront the reality that 65% of American adults lack any estate plan, he asks: What barriers prevent families from planning? How can we make elder law and estate planning more accessible and understandable? His strategic execution translates into services designed around your concerns, not our convenience.
How do we prepare your family for what’s ahead? Brian’s leadership builds an organization capable of guiding you through life’s transitions—from aging and elder care to wealth transfer and legacy planning. His commitment to continuous improvement means you benefit from a firm that evolves alongside the changing needs of families like yours.
When you work with Hammond Law Group, you benefit from Brian’s relentless focus on one question: How do we serve you better?
When he’s not busy asking questions, Brian enjoys pickleball, reading, skiing, and hiking with his wife and rescue dog, Nanuq.
